Today im going to write a fact that I learned and I’m going to explain it with detail.
The fact:
-Islam forbids the drinking of alcohol. I think Islam forbids because you lose control of your body and your destroying you gift from god, the brain, and I also think its because its somehow related to drugs.

Today I am going to write a famous proverb and try to explain it.

The proverb: ‘One hand cannot clap’
The explanation: I think this means that a person cannot do everything alone and that it would be easier if you had at least one person to help you out.

I learned that…
Islam was was memorized by Muslims and was not written down till 200 years after prophet Mohammad died, and because of this historians believe that some of the original words that were in the Quran may have been altered. Some historians also say that Islam had a hard time spreading and it was not until two tribes had a big conflict and they asked for prophet Mohammad help did the people of Arabia start believing and so till this day Islam has been spreading.
I daydreamed about…
How would life be like if I were alive in prophet Mohammad’s time.
I wanted to say…
nothing because we were watching a movie.

Mr.R told us to answer the following questions about the theme of the book ‘a wrinkle in time’.
The Questions:
-What do you think the most important theme of the book?
I think that it is the theme of good vs. evil, and I think this because the book generally the book talks about the adventure of Meg, Charles, and Calvin fighting ‘evil’ to save Meg’s father from the black thing and with them are three ladies ‘good’ that were stars that sacrificed there lives to defeat the evil.
- What was our overall impression of the book. What was the most memorable? The least? What did you like? Dislike?
I think that the book is very well writen and that the author had a very big imagination or memories of imaginations she had as a child. The most memorable part of the book for me was when they were fighting IT and the black thing because there is action in that part but in the beginning of the book the part were they are in the garden talkig and also when they are in the kitchen with Mrs.Whatsit because they are just talking in that part and its really quite boring. I liked the way the author had they beginning setting on the ordinary then when they wrinkle to Uriel it becomes a fantasy and the way the author brought together those two parts was really unnoticeable. What I dislike about the book that every time a new character is brought in the author describes the character a little too much and then the book gets a bit boring.

Today Mr.R told us to try something different for he caravan logs, so instead of just writing facts now we have to write one fact and explain it or write a verse from the Quran and explain it.

“…he who gives in charity and protects himself from evil and believes in goodness. We shall smooth the path to salvation, but for him that neither gives nor takes and disbelieves in goodness. We shall smooth the path to affliction. When he breathes his last, his riches will not avail him here…”
I think that this verse means that money isn’t every thing and that giving money to charity and helping other is just as important.

We talked about …
We didn’t really talk much but we did play a game like monopoly and every group had die and rolled them on there turn then you would either get a quiz card which was a question about the unit and if you get the question right you get 5 dirhams and if you get it wrong you get nothing, or you can get a wisdom which is a card with information on it and we keep it with us because it might come in handy in the Islam bowl.
I learned that …
Some Americans have Arabic names. Most of Lebanon is christian. The word ‘Arab’ means without water. Arabians contributed to the society in numbers, art and astrology. At prayer time a muezzin calls for the people to come and pray.
I daydreamed about …
Nothing.
I wanted to say …
We didn’t say anything but I wanted to get either a 2 or get a really good bulletin card.

In Social Studies Mr.R asked us to read a packet about Islam and answer the following questions about the unit.
-What do you think about this unit?
I think that it would be really fun to have the class do something not regular for once and I like the simulation idea.
-What questions do you have about it?
Why is Islam still technologically behind?
